Be prepared as Cyprus drives on the left!
The best tip to remember your place on the road is the Global “Rule” that Driver is always at the middle of the road. There are numerous signs on major roads and highways across the island that will keep reminding you exactly that!
Give way to the right when entering a roundabout and turn into the correct lane when making a turn.
Driving within town limits generally the speed is set to 50km, there are exceptions such as neighborhoods or busy with pedestrian streets, nearby schools or zebra crossing that will require you to set your speed at 30km. Of course there will be signs accordingly to the situation.
Outside the town limits and away of any surrounding houses the speed rises to 80km and in some cases 65km based on the area or exits. Again there will be signs pointing out the appropriate speed limit for any case.
Highways in Cyprus have all a limit of 100km as a maximum speed and a 65km as a minimum speed so pay attention not to go too slow!
Generally, roads in Cyprus are in good condition favoring the driving experience, all signs are both in Greek and English.
